Embry Family Book Signing & Art Exhibit—21st Century Thinking & Reimagining

Mark your calendars and tell your family and friends in the tri‐state area about an event to remember!  In recognition of Black History and Heart Awareness month, the Embry family of Central Kentucky (and Tennessee) is hosting the Embry Book Signing & Art Exhibit—21st Century Thinking & Reimagining   (formerly Embry Book Signing & Photo Exhibit) at the Lyric Theatre in Lexington, KY (in 2014).

This community event includes a little something for everyone and there will be books sold and/or signed by the authors, a photo and painting exhibit, spoken word and musical performances, healthy and delicious food sampling, and presentations by the extended Embry family.  During this two‐day event, we will honor and give special recognition to Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Madison County, and exhibit her award winning paintings depicting Black life.  She will be present to provide insight into her colorful and historical paintings and her long creative life—she is 90 years old.

Brothers Irucka Ajani and Obiora Embry and their mother, Dr. Deborah Mapp‐Embry will read from and sign their books.  Maya Hinton will share stories and recipes from the Recipes & Remembrances: The Embry Family Cookbook.  Spoken word artists Tiffany Bellfield and Vibration Kunvorted will entertain with lyrical lessons.  Father Jim and son Obiora Embry will share their photographs.  Saxophonist Vaughn Gillispie will provide the musical background and visual art.
