Expanding Horizons Through Creative Expressions is a forward thinking book that provokes thought and challenges mainstream.   It is a revolution of the mind and pen that addresses subject that may be uncomfortable to some however is needed to take social, environmental, and global activism to the next level.  The book represents voices from the future crying out by a true visionary that is a passionate warrior, protector, and care taker of Mother Earth.

Background and History

In 1999 Obiora began writing thought‐provoking poetry and that same year he was inspired to author a book but did not bring his idea to fruition until May 2007.  As his idea began to take form he decided to break the norm and create more than a poetry book because he wanted to share some of his themed work with a broader audience as he felt it was way past time for US to expand our horizons and change ourselves for the better.  Even though Obiora felt compelled to create a book, his idea was put on the back burner until December 2008 when it was resurrected from its premature grave.

As the book began to unravel in his mind, Obiora decided to choose poetry (rhyming and non‐rhyming), essays, editorials, fiction, and non‐fiction work that was written between 1999 and 2006.  Obiora called his creation Expanding Horizons Through Creative Expressions: Reflections and Thoughts Related to the Struggle for Peace, Sustainability, Equality, and the Search for Humanity.  The original ebook was released in 2009!

2012‐2013

In July 2012 Obiora heeded the advice from a friend and decided to breathe new life back into Expanding Horizons Through Creative Expressions.  His mission was to create a tangible book to replace the ebook that he had previously created.  He took his ebook and began to layout his book using Scribus.  By the time he was finished with everything in July 2013 he had become an editor—he re‐wrote and edited everything multiple times while working on the page layout, page layout designer, front and back cover designer, and self‐publisher!  This book would not have been completed in 2013‐one of the most sacred years in recent human history if were not for Obiora’s dedication, discipline, and perseverance as Obiora stopped working on his book in August 2012 and did not resume until March 2013!

2013 and beyond

In late July/early 2013, Obiora completed his mission and self‐published Expanding Horizons Through Creative Expressions via Lulu.com.  Obiora initially did a soft sell with his family and it went well, he then started to work on the page layout for his hardcover book—he is in the process of making updates to it— book and fixed some small errors that had not been caught with the paperback version.  Obiora is working on an e‐book and he released one chapter on the 13th of every month during 2014.
